Chennai: A 19-year-old boy and two of his family members were booked by the city police under POCSO Act for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl, Tuesday.
According to the police, Dhanush alias Dhanasekhar (29), a resident of MGR Salai, Nanganallur was in love with a 13-year-old school girl.
He was arrested for sexually abusing her on the promise of marriage and kept her at his house.
Dhanush runs a roadside eatery near Government Higher Secondary School, Thiruvanmiyur. He developed relationship with a class 8 student of the school.
Sources said, the duo went out on many occasions and Dhanush expressed interest in marrying her. Few days ago, after school, she went with Dhanush to his house. It is alleged that he sexually abused her.
Subsequently, a missing complaint was lodged by the minor’s parents who had been frantically searching for her.
Shasthri Nagar police formed a special team and arrested Dhanush at Adyar Bus Depot, Tuesday. The girl was found at his house. Dhanush’s mother Sathya (40) and his uncle Alagappan (40) were involved in keeping the girl illegally in the house. All three of them were produced in court and sent to jail under POCSO Act.
