Chennai: A case has been filed against Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) founder T Velmurugan regarding a speech he made in 2018.
According to the police, on 29 April last year, Velmurugan had participated in a public event near the Chepauk State Guest House. During his public address, he allegedly said offensive statements against the Tamilnadu Government.
He has been booked under sedition charges along with social activist and founder of May 17 Movement Thirumurugan Gandhi. An inquiry is underway in the case registered at Triplicane station.
