Chennai: A youngster is undergoing treatment at a government hospital after an auto driver assaulted him under the influence of alcohol last night.
According to the police, the victim Salim (24), a resident of Neelambasha Dargha, Triplicane stopped an auto to get in at 7 pm last night. The driver Geethan (22) was found be in inerbriate condition and Salim refused to travel. This angered Geethan who slapped Salim and started to beat him.
People nearby interfered and got Salim admitted at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Police said Salim has four broken teeth and and jaw injury. Triplicane police have registered a case.
