Chennai: Come elections, all parties submit a list of star speakers to the Election Commission of India and it has been released now.
Recognised parties can give 40 names while the registered parties can give 20 names. The expenses of these star speakers will not be included under the candidates expenditure, instead it will be added to the party’s cost.
AIADMK list of star speakers include O Panneerselvam, Edappadi K Palaniswami, R Vaithilingam, Dindigul Sreenivasan, K A Sengottaiyan, Natham Viswanathan, Thangamani, Velumani, D Jayakumar, Sellur Raju, C V Shanmugam, Pollachi Jayaraman among others.
The DMK’s star speakers list includes M K Stalin, Dhuraimurugan, I periyasamy, Subbulakshmi Jegadheesan, V P Dhuraisamy, R S Bharathi among other.
Some of the prominent names in other parties are Vaiko (MDMK), Mayilai Sathya (MDMK), Sitharam Yechuri (CPI-M), Prakash Karat (CPI-M), Vijayakanth (DMDK), Premalatha Vijayakanth (DMDK), L K Sudhish (DMDK) and Vijaya Prabhakaran (DMDK).
