Rameswaram: The Sri Lankan Navy arrested eleven fishermen from TamilnaduĀ near Neduntheevu for allegedly fishing in their nation’s waters.
According to media reports, the Lankan Navy seized two boats from the fishermen andĀ damaged over 50 fishing nets. Also theirĀ GPS equipment were seized by the officials. All the arrested fishermen hail from Rameswaram. TheyĀ have been taken to Karainagar in Sri Lanka.
Following the incident, the rest of the fishermen in more than 500 boats returned without fishing, said reports.
