Erode: The Tamilnadu police arrested two people involved in the murder of a youth from Bihar yesterday. According to media reports, the deceased, identified as 22-year-old man Nitishkumar from Bihar, was chopped to death allegedly by three people, after they didn’t get the ransom they had demanded from his mother.
Two of the accused were Navinkumar Patel (23) and his wife Sasikala (22) from Bihar and residing in Erode for the last six months and were employed at a dyeing factory. The couple had befriended Nitishkumar and had promised to get the latter a better job. After this the victim arrived in Erode a couple of days ago and did not return to Dindigul. His mother complained to the Dindigul police and stated that she had not heard from her son since the day he d left for Erode to meet Navinkumar.
With the help of cyber crime police, Nitishkumar’s cellphone was traced and it led to Navinkumar’s and during investigations, the officials found blood stains in the house. The Dindigul police informed their Erode counterparts who enquired Sasikala and Rahul Datta, said to be an associate of Navinkumar. During interrogation, Sasikala and Datta admitted to have demanded a ransom of Rs one lakh from Nitishkumar’s mother and that they had killed him before chopping his body into pieces, and kept the remains in a gunny bag in their house. The police arrested Datta and Sasikala, and hunt is on to nab her husband, who is at large.
