Chennai dramatist’s book ‘Thithikkum Ninaivugal’ released

Chennai: A R Srinivasan, veteran theatre/ film artiste and a longtime resident of Sarangapani Street, released his book ‘Thithikkum Ninaivugal’, in Tamil on 7 April at 10.30 am in Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Maharajapuram Santhanam Salai.

A press release said, sabha president and entrepreneur Nalli Kuppuswami Chettiar released the book and its first copy received by Amudasurabhi Tamil magazine editor Thiruppur Krishnan, in the presence of dean and chairperson of PSBB Group of Schools, YG Parthasarathy.

Film actor VTM Charlie, dramatist Madhu Balaji and director Venkat offered the felicitations. Speaking to this paper, ‘ARS’ as he is popularly known in the film industry said, “:The book evolves around the black and white era right from the 1960s – both in theatre and films.”

It may be noted that he has acted with many stalwarts in the film industry like Sivaji Ganesan, former Chief Ministers, MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa, Sivakumar, Muthuraman, Cho Ramaswamy and has been closely associated with United Amateur Artistes founded by dramatist YG Parthasarathy, right from its beginning.

The book by ARS was earlier published in Amudasurabi magazine, as a series that ran for several weeks, the release added.

“To the best of my knowledge and experience, I brought out my sweet memories with the above personalities. The work carries over 100 photographs, all in black and white,” he added.
