One of India’s leading handcrafted designer firms, Kompanero is all set to launch its latest collection of Italian leather trolleys. Kompanero’s unique designs are a collaborative effort between founder and chief designer, Aloke Sengupta with European designers.
Kompanero has a strong research and development and sampling department who do their best to create intricate samples handcrafted by 700 + strong team artisans. All its products undergo a special ageing process which gives it a ‘distressed look’ and makes it appear like a special heirloom passed down for generations.

The brand is excited to announce their latest range of handcrafted leather trolleys and the series has been named as ‘Time Traveler’. Priced from Rs 30,000 – the collection is a wonderful bridge between vintage style and contemporary with practical interiors such as elastics and dividers. The Italian crafted trolley is available in classic colour variations: black and white. According to the designers, the production base of the collection is a body combined with aluminium profiles, later covered with a polyurethane/poly-amide blend, angles, zippers and closures made of chromed steel. All items featured are with a classical front belt, having its own purity of design and minimalist approach.
* Designing with social responsibility
Kompanero aims to be a highly conscious capitalistic company by focusing on sustainability and social responsibility. ‘We are truly averse to synthetic materials and that is reflected in all aspects of our design whether it be our products or our packaging or auxiliary materials,’ say the designers. ‘We work closely with a local community of visually and auditory challenged, underprivileged girls. We have set up a ‘handcraft unit’ to provide employment, financial independence and enthusiasm to these girls, who are trained by our team in techniques such as weaving and spiral patterning.’ It is located at Phoenix Palladium, Velachery.
