Chennai: TANGEDCO’s local division at Ambattur has been laying underground electric cables to bring the neighbourhood in tune with modern times.
However, the project is taking place only in the main road while interior areas will receive such cables in a phased manner. Until then however, residents want EB officials to look after the electric poles as they are in poor state.
Desikan from Ambattur said, “Damaged poles at Kannagi Street in Vinayagapuam are a cause for concern for residents. Authorities need to take immediate action and repair the poles.”
Other residents too opined the same and said they would like all damaged electric poles replaced.
