Hyderabad: With the inauguration of Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation project across River Godavari set on 21 June, the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would be visiting Mumbai today to invite CM Devendra Fadnavis to be the chief guest of the event.
Rao is scheduled to meet the Maharashtra CM at 2 pm at Fadnavis’ house. According to media reports, the newly appointed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will also be invited to the event.
River Godavari flows through Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The project aims at meeting requirements of drinking water in about 80 per cent of the districts in Telangana. It will also reportedly meet the needs of the farm sector and industries.
