Somarapu Satyanarayana

Hyderabad: Alleging high-handedness, Somarapu Satyanarayana, former TRS MLA from Ramagundam in Telangana, quit the party yesterday.

It is to be noted that Satyanarayana lost the assembly polls that were held last December. Speaking to reporters, he said  party leaders and a former MP tried to defeat him and that he and his supporters were harassed by partymen and police.  “As a disciplined leader… I kept quiet despite high-handedness,” he alleged and added that it would be better to quit when there was no respect.

He further claimed, “The party is moving from being a democratic party to a dictatorial party. Where there is no democracy, many face insults. Under these circumstances, I am resigning from TRS.”

However, TRS MLA Balka Suman, who was an MP earlier, slammed Satyanarayana for his comments. He termed it ill-motivated and against the party and social justice.
