Thiruvananthapuram: A drunk man had a lucky escape on Wednesday night thanks to an alert loco pilot.
The man in a drunken state passed out on the tracks at the Murukkampuzha railway station on Wednesday. But luckily, a loco pilot of Punalur-Madurai passenger, C Suresh Kumar, noticed the man and applied the brakes in time and the man was saved.
The Railway Protection Force apprehended the drunk person. According to a media report, in the year 2018, in Trivandrum Division, 322 and this year 211 people have died after being run over by trains.
