
Chennai: The Arignar Anna Zoological Park has introduced live streaming facility of rare sited black tiger cubs along with sibling white tiger cub and mother. According to a press release, black tigers are due to pseudo-melanism.
Such tigers have thick stripes so close together that the tawny background is barely visible between stripes. The black tiger cubs with their white sibling were exhibited along with its mother for public. The zoo has got overwhelmed response from visitors to see the rare variant of black tiger cubs. They are iconic across the world.
Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur being one of the largest zoo in South East Asia is a famous destination amongst the domestic and foreign tourists. The zoo plays a significant role in captive breeding of endangered tigers among the other ex-situ conservation centre of India. The zoo houses critically endangered species and rare variant of wild animals. One of such rare variant is black tiger cubs.
