Chennai: Today is a special day for Athi Varadar darshan. It is the 16th day since the idol was taken out of the Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple tank and kept for darshan. It is also Pournami.
According to reports, people started queuing before the temple even as early as 2.30 am to have darshan of the beautiful idol of Lord Athi Varadar.
The Lord’s alankaram was spectacular as ever. Apart from the silk robes and different varieties of garlands used to decorate the deity, there was also a thick bunch of cardamom garland to add to the charm.
