Chennai: In a bid to clear extra rush of passengers, Southern Railway will run special trains from Egmore to Tirunelveli.

According to a press release, train (06003) Chennai Egmore-Tirunelveli will leave Chennai Egmore at 6.50 pm on 2 and 23 August, 20 and 27 September and reach Tirunelveli at 6 am, the next day.

Train (06004) Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore will leave Tirunelveli at 3 pm on 4 August, 22 and 29 September and reach Chennai Egmore at 3.15 am, the next day.

The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Satur and Kovilpatti.

The Southern Railway will also run suvidha special trains between Chennai Egmore and Tirunelveli. Train (82601) Chennai Egmore -Tirunelveli will leave Chennai Egmore at 6.50 pm on 9 August and reach Tirunelveli at 6 am, the next day. Train (82602) Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore will leave Tirunelveli at 3 pm on 15 September and reach Chennai Egmore at 3.15 am, the next day. The stoppages for these trains are Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Satur and Kovilpatti.

Also, a special fare special train will run from Tirunelveli to Chennai Egmore. Train (06002) Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore will leave Tirunelveli at 6.15 pm on 12 August and reach Chennai Egmore at 5.30 am, the next day. The train will stop at Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchi, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam.

There will be a special fare special trains between Puratchi Thalaivar Dr M G Ramachandran Central and Ernakulam Jn. Train (06037) Central-Ernakulam Jn will leave Central at 8.10 pm on 2 and 23 August, 13, 20 and 27 September and reach Ernakulam Jn at 8.45 am, the next day.

Train (06038) Ernakulam Jn-Central will leave Ernakulam Jn at 7 pm on 4 and 25 August, 22 and 29 September and reach Central at 7.20 am, the next day.
