Two held for kidnapping man in Minjur


Chennai: Police rescued a man and arrested the kidnappers at Ramanathapuram recently.

According to the police, the victim Karthikeyan (28) of Valluvar Nagar, Minjur worked for an advertising company in Aminjikarai.

On 9 July, he left home to meet few friends and did not return home. Subsequently, a man missing case was lodged with the police. The following day, Karhikeyan’s father Kandaswamy received a ransom call for Rs 60 lakh to release his son.

Aminjikarai Crime Inspector Muthukumar and Sub Inspector Sridhar, registered a kidnap case and began investigating the case. They called the caller to Ramanathapuram.

Even as the location was spotted and Karthikeyan was rescued, police found that the kidnap took place as Karthikeyan had cheated several persons of money and it was a revenge.

Police arrested Kanna (40) and Gopinath (53) of Ramanathapuram. They abducted Karthikeyan from Saidapet. The duo said that he had promised jobs to several people and took money from them. But they did not get jobs and Kathikeyan refused to repay the money.
