Bengaluru: After taking charge as the Karnataka Chief Minister, B S Yediyurappa made two important announcement – an additional relief of Rs 4,000 to beneficiaries of Kisan Samman Yojana scheme, and waiver of weavers’ loans.
Speaking to reporters, he said being a farmer’s son he was committed to help farmers who are reeling under drought. The CM further said he would look into the existing crop loan waiver scheme that was introduced by the previous JDS-led H D Kumaraswamy government after reviewing it. He alleged that there was administrative breakdown in the last 14 months and in the next three to four months he would bring about transformation.
The chief minister said he would not encourage the politics of vengeance. “I assure the people of Karnataka and the opposition parties that under no circumstances will I ever practice the politics of vengeance. I will treat with humility whoever finds fault with me. Forget and forgive is the policy I believe in,” Yediyurappa said.
