Chennai: Directorate of School Education has released the rules and regulations to be followed during the class 5 and 8 public examinations in Tamilnadu, which was announced earlier this year.
When the State government made the announcement about the introduction of public examinations for class 5 and 8, it received a huge backlash from all sections of society including the politicians.
According to reports, the State government assured to the public that they will not implement the order for three years. But the latest government order states that public examination will be conducted from the current academic year and earlier announcement to postpone the examinations will not be implemented.
In a circular which was sent to schools, the government informs that public examinations will be conducted from the current academic year and rules and regulations should be followed which was prescribed by the school education department.
Tamilnadu Teachers Association has voiced their opposition against the circular. ‘Public examinations for class 5 and 8 students should be cancelled and circular should be revoked,’ said association president Elamaran.
