Chennai: Arun Castro, an alumni of New York Film Academy and Indian School of Drama, is making his debut as hero in a movie titled V1. Interestingly, it is directed by actor Pawal Navageethan, who played meaty roles in several movies in the past. Vishnupria plays the female lead and she also essays a cop.
Lijesh, Mime Gopi and Monica are also in the cast. Music is by Roni Raphael, cinematography by House Owner fame Krishnasekar and editing by C S Premkumar.
Speaking about the film, Arun Castro says, “It is a gripping intense thriller. It is about a youngster, who works in forensic department in police department. He has a fear for dark. A murder happens at a house in the city and the onus is on him to find out the killer. How he overcomes all odds and cracks the case forms the story.”
He adds, “I play a forensic trainer in a college. He is a very confident person and a body language expert. He would easily identify the criminal in a group. That way I also prepared myself well for the role in terms of body language before getting into the act.”
We did intense research and enough rehearsals were done to get the act right, he adds. After completing my engineering in BITS, Pilani, I took to formal training in acting in USA. Acting is my passion, he adds.
Says Arun, “I interacted with few retired police officers. They gave me enough inputs. The end product is entertaining and engrossing.”
Heaping laurels on Pawal, he adds, “His inputs helped me perform well on screen. He knows how to get the best from you. He had immense faith in my talents and gave me the opportunity. I am grateful to him.”
