Chennai: Madras High Court today questioned why can’t the present Central government cancel the NEET, which was brought by the previous regime.
The court expressed its concern about NEET coaching centres being ‘rich-friendly’. It said the doors of these coaching centres do not open for poor students.
”It is sad to know that only those students who were able to shell out Rs five lakh were able to crack the exam. The Central government should act based on the welfare of the students. It is a bitter truth that poor students cannot study in medical colleges,” the court said.
Meanwhile, Madras High Court’s Madurai Bench today denied the bail plea of Mohammed Sabi who was arrested in NEET impersonation case on 12 October.
