Chennai: A day after Rajinikanth said that he was pained over the violence in various parts of the country, his remarks witnessed sharp reactions.
Without making a direct mention of the widespread protests across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Rajini in a tweet said, ”violence and rioting should not become a way to find solution for any issue.”
Stating that he was pained by the ongoing violence in various parts of the country, Rajini said people should keep the Nation’s security and welfare in mind and remain united and vigilant. ”The ongoing violence gives me great pain,” he added.
Reacting to Rajini’s tweet, actor-director and Naam Tamizhar Katchi founder Seeman asked him to spell out his stand on CAA. Congress Lok Sabha member P Jothimani termed Rajinikanth’s remarks as a ditto of BJP’s views.
DMK president M K Stalin’s son and party’s Youth Wing leader and film actor Udhayanidhi Stalin said ”let all of us participate in the Anti-CAA really to be led by Stalin”.
”Leave at home those affluent and aged, who are rattled at the agitation for securing legitimate rights, thinking it as violence”, he said.
