Chennai: In a shocking development, 57 coronavirus affected persons were found in Tamilnadu today, taking the total number to 124.
Health Secretary Beela Rajesh, who revealed this to reporters tonight, said that almost all the cases of the day were among the ones who attended a conference in Delhi recently.
Stating that the government only has the list of 500+ people who attended the conference, she urged the remaining to report to the government immediately, to stop the spread of the pandemic.
The Tablighi Jamath conference in Delhi saw participation by Islamic preachers from across Asia, including countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan and China. More than 1,100 people from Tamilnadu attended the conference.
