Stalin sacks senior leader from DMK

Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin today suspended the party’s farmer’s wing secretary K P Ramalingam from the party.

A release said the action was taken as Ramalingam violated the party’s rules and regulations. Ramalingam, said to be a supporter of Stalin’s brother M K Alagiri who was expelled from the party some years ago, was reportedly relieved from his post because of his views against the all-party meeting suggested by Stalin to discuss the covid-19 pandemic. A section of the media had carried Ramalingam’s views.

Ramalingam was elected as member of Parliament in June 2010 for Rajya Sabha. He is also a former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamilnadu.
