An aged woman died of Coronavirus pandemic in Tamilnadu, taking to toll to nine, even as 77 fresh positive cases were reported today, taking the tally to 911.

On extending the lockdown in Tamilnadu beyond 14 April, State Chief Secretary K Shanmugam today said Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami was studying the recommendations of the 19-member medical expert committee, which had suggested extending it by two weeks as the number of cases in the State were increasing every day.
The 19-member Committee of medical experts, formed to track the spread of coronavirus in the State, today recommended extension on the current lockdown in Tamilnadu by two weeks beyond April 14. Â
With the numbers of coronavirus affected persons increasing each passing day in Tamilnadu, their population is expected to go up further in the days to come, thanks to the arrival of 50,000 testing kits.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today chaired a meeting via video conferencing from the Secretariat with 19 medical teams deployed to control the spread of coronavirus.
