Chennai: Tamilnadu today reported its highest ever number of Coronavirus cases at 231. Out of them, 174 are from Chennai alone.
According to a health bulletin, 29 patients were discharged today and there was one new death.
In total, there were 2,757 COVID-19 cases. But the active cases are 1,384 and 1,341 have been discharged.
Chennai has the maximum number of cases in the state- 1,257. 174 cases reported today alone. While Coimbatore reported 1 new case, there were two in Tirupur. Coimbatore has the second highest number of cases – 142. Districts like Ariyalur, Chengalpet, Kanchipuram and Thiruvallur too reported new cases.
Totally 10,049 samples tested today and the government said Tamilnadu has increased its scale of testing. As many as 1,39,490 samples were tested till date and 1,035 samples are under process.
Of the 2,757 cases, 1,828 are male, 928 female and 1 transgender. It is said 159 children below age of 12 affected.
