Corona care in Kanchipuram

Kancheepuram: In a bid to appreciate their spirited war against coronavirus, all employees of government headquarters hospital in Kancheepuram were given essential items including rice bags, vegetables and groceries.

At an event organised by MGR youth wing secretary Muthialpet R V Ranjith Kumar, AIADMK district secretary Walajabad Ganesan and District Revenue Officer N Sundaramurthy presented the essentials to the hospital staff.

While Covid-19 is threatening the whole world by affecting lives and livelihood, healthcare staff are waging a brave war against the pandemic, by risking their own lives. The Tamilnadu government is taking various efforts to control the spread of coronavirus.

Following instructions from Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, Kancheepuram West district MGR youth wing secretary Muthialpet R V Ranjith Kumar made arrangements to distribute welfare measures to the staff members of government headquarters hospital in Kancheepuram.

At a function organised by him, as many as 500 members, including doctors, nurses and support staff, were given a pack of essentials by AIADMK district secretary Walajabad Ganesan, District Revenue Officer N Sundaramurthy and Ranjith Kumar.

Speaking on the occasion, Ranjith Kumar said, “Under the directions of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and Health Minister C Vijayabaskar, the Tamilnadu government is taking all measures against coronavirus on a warfooting. At this juncture, I have done something under my capacity by presenting rice, vegetables and groceries to healthcare staff. Doctors are equal to God and I bow to them.”

Earlier, appreciating the selfless service of hospital staff, they were honoured with shawl. Ranjith Kumar also presented them masks and hand sanitisers.

Tan Silks Chairman Pookadai Sekar, Kancheepuram headquarters hospital Joint Director, Dr A Jeeva, Resident Officer Dr Baskar, Superintendent Dr Kalpana, Dr Arunprasad, former Panchayat president R V Jothiammal, Women’s Wing office-bearer Prema Ranjith Kumar, advocate R V Udhayan, Kumar and others were present.

Earlier in March, Ranjith Kumar presented Nila Vembu Kashayam, soap, tender coconut water, face mask and other things as preventive measures. Also, he was among the first to present Rs two lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to fight coronavirus. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM, Deputy CM, District Collector Ponnaiah, police personnel and all other government departments for their measures against coronavirus.
