Chennai: Though Tamilnadu’s mortality rate due to Covid-19 is 0.69 per cent, the deaths have been rising steadily over the last few days. On Tuesday alone, the State recorded eight fatalities, taking the toll to 61.
Out of this 61, Chennai alone accounts for 39 deaths. However, offcials say people need not worry about this, as both the cases and deaths would come down soon, thanks to the government’s aggressive measures.
