Chennai: “Luminous Tamilnadu”, an event being organised by the the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to attract new investments and take the State’s economy forward, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today.
Palaniswami will inaugurate the event through video conferencing and release a book on Tamilnadu’s industrial wealth.
An official release here said more than 500 leading industrialists are expected to take part in the event, aimed to attract more investments into the State, to put back the economy, hit by the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, back on the rails.
CII Tamilnadu president Hari K Thiagarajan, past presidents R Dinesh, B Santhanam, Preetha Reddy of Apollo Hospitals, Vijay Sankar of Sanmar Group, Srivats Ram of Wheels India and Satyakam Arya of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Private Limited were among those who will take part in the virtual event.
The State has also been taking a number of measures to ensure Tamilnadu was a favoured destination for industries, the release said.
