Chennai: Not just Chennai, but other parts of Tamilnadu too are on witnessing increase in Covid-19 cases lately, prompting Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to call for a meeting of District Collectors.
According to sources, the meet will be held via video conferencing on Wednesday and the Chief Minister will speak to Collectors from his chamber in the Secretariat in Chennai.
“He will discuss in details steps to be taken to control the spread of the pandemic”, added sources. Tamilnadu continued to witness highest single-day spike in novel coronavirus cases for third day in a row with over 2,700 more cases, pushing the state’s Covid-19 count beyond 62,000 on Monday.
Monday was the sixth straight day that the State has reported more than 2,000 new single-day virus cases. With 2,710 fresh cases since Sunday, Tamilnadu’s Covid-19 count rose to 62,087, according to the state health department.
