TN CM condoles death of MP Governor


Chennai: Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today condoled the Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon.

In his condolence message, Palaniswami said the MP Governor’s death was a huge loss to the people of Uttar Pradesh, where he was formerly Leader of the Opposition. Tandon had also served Governor of Bihar and a Member of Parliament, Palaniswami noted.

The Chief Minister also lauded his public life and service to the people and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members.

Earlier, Tamilnadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit condoled the demise of his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Lalji Tandon and described him as a great statesman, effective administrator and wonderful human being.

Tandon passed away in Lucknow this morning after a prolonged illness. In his message, Purohit said, “the sad demise of Lalji Tandon fills me with great shock and grief.”

He was a great statesmen, effective administrator and wonderful human being. He devoted his whole life for the welfare of the people of India, particularly of Uttar Pradesh, Purohit said, according to a Raj Bhavan communique.
