No free provisions at ration shops from August in Tamilnadu

Chennai: Tamilnadu government has said that the distribution of free provisions at fair proce shops will be stopped from August.

The government has been distributing provisions for free at ration outlets for the months of April, May, June and July due to the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, tokens to get the provisions will be distributed by fair price shop staff on 1,3 and 4 August.

The staff have been directed to ensure that atleast 225 card holders are given provisions on a single day. Provisions will not be distributed apart from the time mentioned in the token.

The government also said that only one person from a family should come to get provisions from fair price shops.

It also said that the shops will function on 7 August and a compensatory leave date will be announced later. The government also directed that the provisions should be given as a package.
