Optum, a part of UnitedHealth Group (UHG), has committed Rs11,45,68,775 to fight the Covid -19 pandemic in India. The funding is part of a $10 million Covid-19 global fund committed by UHG for countries where its businesses operate, it said.

By rolling out what it calls the ‘six-stage ultra safety program’ that ‘ensures’ contactless detection of potential carriers of the Covid-19 virus, 100 per cent sterilisation of indoors, and minimal physical contact while providing healthcare services, Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre, Madurai, has said it is offering the highest possible protection to its patients, visitors, and staff, against coronavirus infection.

All schools in Tamilnadu will begin admissions for classes one to 11 on 17 August, while a decision is yet to be taken on the repening date. Ahead of this, the government has issued guidelines to be followed, in view of the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
