Chennai,  Apr 29:

Oil marketing companies have clarified that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel or LPG across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, and have urged the public not to resort to panic buying.

In a statement, VC Asokan, state-level coordinator for the oil industry, said that fuel stocks remain adequate at retail outlets of Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited.

He added that the supply chain from refineries to depots and fuel stations is functioning smoothly without disruption, with stock levels being continuously monitored to ensure uninterrupted availability.

LPG deliveries are also being maintained across the state, with waiting times for domestic cylinders reduced to under five days in most areas, while pockets with higher backlog are being cleared on priority.

The companies further said that auto LPG supplies at fuel outlets are sufficient, and distribution is being stepped up to meet ongoing demand.
