New Delhi: In the wake of ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no question hour and private members’ business during the monsoon session, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat has said.
However, zero hour and other proceedings will be held as per schedule. Monsoon session of Parliament is scheduled to begin from 14 September and conclude on 1 October, a notification said.
All MPs will have to undergo Covid-19 test before the monsoon session of Parliament starting on 16 September. This includes Ministers and everyone else entering Parliament premises.
Decision to this effect was taken in a meeting chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla with senior officers of Health Ministry, AIIMS, ICMR, DRDO, and health department of Delhi to give final shape to preparations for the session.
“Comprehensive arrangements have been made in the Parliament building for the upcoming session in wake of the pandemic and MPs will be requested to get tested for coronavirus at least 72 hours before the start of the session,” Birla said after the meeting.
