Chennai: Madras High Court today said that advocates need not wear black coat and black gown when they come to court from 7 September.

The Court said that advocates must wear white shirt and neck band alone and appear for direct arguments.

The decision has been taken based on the request submitted by Madras Bar Association in view of the Covid-19 situation.
