Chennai: DMDK founder and actor-politician A Vijayakanth, who was admitted to hospital here on Tuesday evening for Covid-19 follow up, was discharged Friday.
A medical update issued by MIOT International, where he was admitted, said, “Vijayakanth has been discharged Friday from MIOT Hospitals after showing improvement in all radiological investigations and observations.”
A bulletin said consistent with planned follow-up for Covid-19, he underwent radiological assessment that showed significant improvement and that he would be discharged shortly.
Vijayakanth was admitted to the hospital recently after routine tests returned positive for Covid-19.
Later, his wife and DMDK treasurer Premalatha also tested positive and was admitted to the hospital. After they recovered well, both of them were discharged a few days back.
