Chennai: The Coronavirus cases are on a steady decline in the city. According to data given by the Greater Chennai Corporation, this morning the tally of total positive cases was 7,254 which is at four per cent.

Since the lockdown, Chennai has recorded 1,99,173 cases of Covid-19, of which 1,88,280 have recovered over the months. Chennai is showing 95 per cent recovery rate.

Nearly 3,639 persons have died due to the viral infection. As per records, 455 persons have died in Teynampet, 410 persons have died in Anna Nagar and 402 casualties are reported in Kodambakkam.

On 31 October, 11,317 tests were carried out by the City Corporation’s health department.

Currently, Anna Nagar has 557 positive cases and 516 cases in Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar.
The pandemic has affected more men than women, As per data, 60.78 per cent of the patients are male and 39.22 per cent are female.

Around 18.93 per cent of those contracting the virus is from the age group of 40-49 years of age.

Kodambakkam and Anna Nagar have the highest recovery rate as close to 20,000 people have overcome the viral infection.
