Chennai: Eighteen-year-old inventor and entrepreneur Harshwardhansinh Zala has developed a landmine detection drone that can remotely detect and defuse landmines, thereby saving thousands of precious human lives.
A winner of the Billion Acts Hero Award by a US based organisation, he was recently honoured with Young Achiever Award by Rotary Club of Madras East.
The award was initiated in 2011 by Rotary Club of Madras East with its office-bearer Murugavel Selvan sponsoring every year. This award is given annually toĀ promising youngsters from categories of music, arts, sports, education, technology, social works, literature etc. to recognise and motivate budding achievers who believe in the quality of perseverance.
Zala is is currently working with the Indian Army and Central Reserve PoliceĀ Force. Once India’s problems with landmines is solved, he wants to provide theĀ solution to the rest of the world.
