Chennai: The six-day Kandha Sashti festivities at Lord Murugan temples across Tamilnadu will conclude today. Soorasamharam event will be conducted in Tiruchendur without the participation of public.
Various rituals are being held for the past five days with devotees observing fast and offering prayers.
The Tamilnadu government on Thursday informed the Madras High Court that the Soorasamharam of the Tiruchendur Murugan temple would be conducted on the seashore and the Thirukalyanam inside the premises.
The court observed that since devotees would not be permitted to witness the Soorasamharam and Thirukalyanam, television channels should be permitted to live telecast the events.
