After filing nominations, EPS & Stalin now focus on campaigning


Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and DMK president M K Stalin, who had filed their nominations to contest in the 6 April Assembly elections from Edappadi and Kolathur, respectively, on Monday, have now shifted their focus on campaigning.

Starting today, both the top guns of Tamilnadu politics will tour Tamilnadu and meet the public in as many places as possible, before the winding up of electioneering on 4 April.

Other leaders too are getting ready for heated campaign. AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran, will launch his election campaign in Thiruvottiyur, near Chennai on Tuesday.

During the period up to 31 March, he will cover northern districts such as Tiruvallur, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, and Tirupattur; central districts such as Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Ariyalur, Tiruchi and Karur; western districts such as Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Namakkal, Erode and Coimbatore, and southern districts such as Dindigul, Madurai, Theni, Sivagana and Ramanathapuram, apart from Puducherry, said a release from the AMMK.
