Mumbai: The identical vehicle number plates recovered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from Mithi river in Mumbai in connection with the Antilia (industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residene) security scare case belonged to a stolen vehicle owned by a State government servant, reports said.
Vinay Nade employed as a clerk with the Stateâs social welfare department, had reported the vehicle, a Maruti Eco, stolen from Aurangabad district in November 2020.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the murder of Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiran, recovered crucial evidence from the Mithi river in Mumbai’s Bandra.
The agency said that divers have recovered two CPUs, a laptop, CCTV DVR and a couple of number plates with the same registration number
The NIA had taken arrested cop Sachin Waze to the bridge over the river in connection with the probe.
Waze, who is the prime accused in the case, had allegedly thrown these items into the river, according to the NIA.
