Chennai: Durgaprasad Bommadi, an independent candidate contesting the 6 April Assembly election in the Yanam constituency of the Union Territory of Puducherry, who was reported missing, was traced in Andhra Pradesh.
According to sources, he was found on a roadside at Achampet near Kakinada in unconscious condition. After medical treatment, he would be brought to Yanam, it is said.
On Sunday, his wife lodged a complaint with the Yanam police station that Bommadi was missing from 1 April. Police registered a case and started investigation.
It may be noted that Malladi Kirshna Rao, former Health Minister who won the seat for five terms in a row resigned from the Congress and supported the NR Congress after announcing that he will not contest any more in elections.
NR Congress president and former Chief Minister N Rangasamy is contesting from Yanam constituency this time.
