Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin is likely to make an announcement today on extension of the ongoing lockdown for one more week, however with relaxations.
Medical experts have recommended extension of the Covid-19 lockdown in Tamilnadu by another week. The current lockdown ends on 14 June morning.
Stalin had held a meeting of health officials and top bureaucrats and experts in public health on Thursday, who recommended the government extend the lockdown by another week.
Based on the inputs from officials and experts, he is expected to take a decision on extending the lockdown with more relaxations.
However, sources said that any relaxation in the 11 districts where the spread of Covid-19, is still high, would not be possible.
