Chennai: State Minister for Finance and Human Resources P T R Palanivel Thiagarajan has said the DMK government would bring out a white paper on Tamilnadu finances, much before he presents the budget for the year in the Assembly.
Speaking to the media after launching a new website for the Tamil Nadu Chief Ministerâs Public Relief Fund (CMPRF), along with IT Minister T Mano Thangaraj at the Secretariat, the Finance Minister said, “This year, for the first time, we will present an e-Budget. Similarly, if many accounts are presented in Excel format rather than PDF format, it would help many people study them extensively.”
“Thanks to the e-Budget initiative, about 2,500 trees that would have been cut to make paper for printed documents, would be saved,” he added.
Thiagarajan said Rs 472 crore had been received as donation to the CM Relief Fund after the DMK government headed by chief minister M K Stalin came to power. Around Rs 421 crore was spent towards Covid containment measures and improving the supply of oxygen and oxygen beds.
