Chennai: Air-conditioned bus services which were stopped in the State on 10 May due to the coronavirus pandemic will resume from 1 October.
As many as 702 AC buses will be operated for inter-district and intra-district travel. Sources said that the buses will be operated by following the standard operating procedures.
‘Services will be increased and decreased based on the requirement. All the buses will be sanitised after every trip. Passengers will be allowed only after sanitising their hands and wearing masks,’ sources added.
Meanwhile, it is said that the Tamilnadu government’s helicopter which was not used from 2019 November will be converted as an air ambulance. A team has been constituted to implement this project.
