Chennai: Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin today thanked the voters for the victory that they have given to his party in the rural local body polls and said that this was the result of the five months of hardwork from the government.
In a statement here, Stalin said, ‘this victory is testament to the promises fulfilled by this government. This election result is a huge recognition for the DMK led government.’
‘When DMK formed the government in May, corona spread was at its peak. On one side there was a medical emergency and on the other there was a financial crisis. However, the government has handled both the issues efficiently. We understood the needs of the people and acted accordingly. We have fulfilled more than 200 poll promises despite the financial situation,’ Stalin said
The Chief Minister further further said, ‘the victory in the rural local body election in the nine districts is the result of this hard work. I told that people’s trust in DMK has increased more in these five months. This has been proved by this result. The works which would usually take five years time have been completed in these past five months.’ Stalin also congratulated all the winners of the local body polls.
‘This government is implementing several welfare schemes for the people and more plans will be implemented in the future. It is the responsibility of the local body representatives to ensure that these schemes reach the public. The elected members should keep this in mind and work accordingly,’ he said.
