Chennai: Reply to a RTI query has revealed that Rs 3.52 crore has been so far spent to probe the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
The RTI has also revealed that so far 154 persons have been investigated by the Arumughasamy Commission set up for the probe.
Jayalalithaa died on 5 December, 2016 and the Commission of Inquiry was constituted the next year by the AIADMK government following allegations and suspicions surrounding her death. The probe panel under retired judge Arumughasamy was set up in September 2017.
Meanwhile, another RTI has reportedly revealed that 4.23 crore has been spent for the commission set up to probe the Thoothukudi shooting incident.
The Tamilnadu government appointed a one-member Justice (retired) Aruna Jagadeesan commission to probe the riots and police firing on the hundredth day of anti-Sterlite protest in Tuticorin on 22 May 2018.
