Ramanathapuram: A migrant worker from Odisha died and two others were admitted to the government hospital in a critical condition due to asphyxiation while cleaning a septic tank in a fish oil manufacturing company at Machur village near Thondi in Ramanathapuram district.
Police said Nabin Oram (24), Anil Majid (24) and Jasman Kuthur (20), all hailing from Odisha fell unconscious while cleaning the septic tank.
They were rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital, where Nabin Oram died while two others were battling for lives. Thondi police have registered a case and are investigating.
