Chennai: One more cheating complaint has been filed against former AIADMK Minister K T Rajenthra Bhalaji following which the police have intensified their hunt for him.

Police issued a look out notice to all the airports against Bhalaji to prevent him from fleeing the country in connection with the Rs three crore job racketeering case.

The Virudhunagar district police issued the look out notice against Bhalaji, who was the Minister for Dairy Development in the previous AIADMK regime, in two cases registered against him for cheating people to the tune of Rs three crore, by promising government jobs in Aavin department.

The lookout notice has been issued to ensure that Bhalaji does not flee the country. Police were keeping a close watch in all the airports across the State, police sources said.

The Virudhunagar police have formed eight special teams to arrest him, after the Madras High Court had dismissed his two anticipatory bail applications.

The special teams have fanned out to different parts of Tamilnadu, besides Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh in search of the former Minister.

Bhalaji, who was addressing a protest meeting at Virudhunagar, suddenly left the venue in a car after coming to know that his bail pleas were dismissed by the court. He had changed three cars and took rural roads to travel some crucial distance without being watched by the police, the sources added.

The special police teams, consisting of two Deputy Superintendents of Police and six Inspectors, were carrying out searches to arrest him.

The police were trying to track Bhalaji, who is AIADMK’s Virudhunagar district secretary, with his mobile phone signal and those of his family members and close associates. Inquiries were already conducted with the close relatives of Bhalaji.

The police wanted to arrest Bhalaji, before the Supreme Court takes up his anticipatory bail application, as his counsel sought suspension of the operation of the Madras HC order dismissing his plea, for a period of 15 days to enable him to approach the apex court.

The Virudhunagar district crime branch police on 15 and 17 November registered two cases under IPC sections 405 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 120A (criminal conspiracy) against Mr.Bhalaji and five others, including his three personal assistants for cheating different persons with the promise of getting government jobs.
