Kohli stunned the cricketing world by stepping down from the Test captaincy following India’s 1-2 series loss to South Africa. He had earlier relinquished T20 captaincy after the World Cup last year, something that led to a war of words with BCCI, leading to his removal from ODI leadership.
Now in South Africa, the ODI series is led by KL Rahul in Rohit’s absence due to injury. No Indian captain has led the team in so many Tests. No Indian captain has recorded as many wins – home and away. No Indian captain has had a better win-loss record.
It’s time Team India, should regroup. With T20 World Cup this year, the team should get their act well. Disappointment of losing to Pakistan is still fresh. Change tactics. Bring fresh blood. Prepare well. Go for the RIL, say many. And with Kohli just as batter going for runs, it should be advantage India.
